- Dust the furniture regularly with a soft cloth. Furniture polish is not necessary, but can be used sparingly. Never use paint thinners or abrasive creams to clean wicker or cane.

- Protecting the tops of wood furniture is essential to avoid scratches and dings. Using a tablecloth on a wood table is another great idea if the table is being used regularly.
